The food is usually ok here. The coffee is expensive and not included with your meal. Expect to spend over $10 if you are going to get a real breakfast with coffee. This place just doesn't do it for me. For the price you pay you would expect to get a little better coffee, food, and service. And after the experience me and a friend had today I probably will never go back there. Make sure you grab all your stuff off the table before you leave. You may not get it back. That's all I will say about that.

This review would have gotten 4 stars instead of 3 had the hostess maybe manager/owner not argued and lied to my face. Don't expect anyone who understands customer service here because the woman I spoke with argued with me while I was giving constructive criticism. I was not complaining, I was making helpful suggestions. I was being thorough and detailed. Her comment was in 12 years she has never has a single person complained. **Bold faced lie.** And here I come on here and yes people have complained. I have worked in the restaurant industry professionally as a server, prep cook and as head cook 8 years total experience in 3 and 4 star restaurants. When I give constructive criticism I am very careful of my tone, attitude and that I keep as positive as possible. I also am careful that I offer helpful solutions and suggestions. Since the woman I spoke with was not interested in actually hearing me out, I could tell she did not want to listen to any suggestions since all she did was argue every point I had and never offered up an apology. So I am relaying my experience here so you can judge for yourself. First off let me say, nothing was horrible. Some of the food was actually tasted very good, and some really did not, and there were a few mistakes which should never have happened in the first place. Lemonade - Extra Large - Very bland, not tangy or sweet just kind of blah. Not worth 2.29 for the lack of quality in this product. There are free refills when the waitress actually decides to fill your glass and not walk by it 3 times while it is sitting on the edge of the table for her to see. Ask for extra lemon to get some flavor in the lemonade. 2 out of 5. Hot chocolate - Regular coffee cup size - 1.99 - Decent hot chocolate, it obviously came from a machine, but the flavor is actually very good. Not exceptional, but 4 out of 5. Worth the price you pay for it. Biscuits and Gravy - Half Order - 4.59 - 1 large biscuit cut in half. The biscuit has good flavor and texture. The sauce was thick and had great flavor, and a really good balance. Some sauces are overly salty, peppery or floury. This sauce was absolutely perfect. It had none of the usual flaws. If you are a biscuits and gravy person this is your place! For the price I would have liked to have seen another half of a biscuit. The sauce is more than ample. Another half of a biscuit would make this the ultimate dish. This is a 5 out of 5. Blueberry French Toast with Cream Cheese Filling - 6.?? - I don't remember the price on this exactly. This is where I was really disappointed the most. The size of the portion is great for what you pay for, the flavor and texture is poor. There was a lot of poor execution in this dish. The blueberries which I assumed were canned are "fresh frozen" according to the woman I spoke with. Which means someone else makes it and freezes it. The berries were bland and flavorless. The cream cheese was not prepared in any way. It was just cream cheese that was just taken off the block and spread between the French toast. It would literally take 1 minute in the morning to take a few blocks of cream cheese into a bowl, throw in a small bit of powdered sugar and a hint of vanilla and beat some air into the cream cheese mixture. This would give it a smoother, creamier taste and sweeten it up a bit so it wasn't so harsh tasting against the French toast. The textures and flavors in this dish are horribly misaligned! A last point of contention over this dish was the whipped cream on top, which is ready whip type product. This is a split hair. I personally would want to pay a little extra for real whipped cream on this and not a ready whip product. Ready whip is not awful, but it is not great either, and with so much wrong on the dish the ready whip just brings it down even more. Overall I would not order this dish again unless some significant changes were made to it. This dish gets a score of 2 out of 5. Eggs Benedict with Hash Browns - The flavor of this dish was spot on. I personally like more acid in my hollandaise than most and so I always order extra lemon, but this is purely taste. The egg was cooked perfectly which is difficult to do. The ham, English muffin and "extra crispy" hash browns were not cooked enough. The cook who prepared this does not have grill timing down at all. The flavor was excellent on the hash browns. Flavor was not the problem just texture and timing. Overall 4 out of 5. Service - The server we had was pretty good, but she never came back to see how everything was, and missed getting refills many times; we had to ask for refills. When I told her about the problems with the eggs Benedict she did offer to get a new order which I did decline out of time, and the fact it was texture not flavor problem. Neither the hostess nor server apologized for any errors. Most things that were wrong were minor, but very easy things to correct.

This is a great place to go after a night at the bars. The pancake platter does a nice job of soaking up the booze in your system

ever wonder where strippers, gangbangers, whitealmost-too black fake gangbangers, farmers, hookers, cougras, milfs, drunk college students, and drugged out hiipies go to eat at 2/3am? they move pretty fast considering all the traffic they get after the bars...then again, everyone is usually super tired or fucked up so the food doesnt have to be that good, does it?

Hmmm.... Where do I start??? The staff was great from being seated to being served. However the place needs to be updated. It's a family style restaurant but not all families are accustomed to cracks in vinyl seating... I think every booth had rips, tears, and cracks in them. They are reasonably priced and the food was good and well prepared. I had the Hungry Mans special which came with your choice of waffles, pancakes, or french toast, 2 eggs made to your liking, and your choice of sausage or bacon. Needless to say I don't eat beef or pork and they didn't have turkey. I choose the french toast and scrabbled eggs, they graciously offered to substitute another slice of french toast for the meat. However breakfast is not the same without meat but their willingness to substitute says a lot. I do understand that I am a woman ordering the Hungry Mans special which would lead someone to believe that it was an overwhelming amount of food but the portion size was for a very small man. Nevertheless the food was well prepared... Oh yea.. I like flavored lemonade but all they had was regular lemonade but once again they substituted by adding cherry grenadine... Yummy..

This place is very out dated, need different flooring updated booth seats and a good cleaning! Food is ok. Not all that great. Don't know about getting dressing if you have the duck, roasted turkey or pork.. it will be literally swimming in gravy or marinade!! But I guess my favorite is looking at a cup of water with black in the cup! Stained or is it actually dirty?!?! We won't be coming back here again!

We stayed at a local hotel for a few days and ate here a few times. Dinner was Greek salad and greek platter appetizer. Both were very good. The best was their breakfast however, a wide selection of pancakes, omelettes, etc. They have a very good fruit platter. I had the veggie omelette one day, oatmeal the next. They do serve beer and wine (house chardonnay was very good). The service was very good and friendly, the place did not seem rundown or old at all. It's just a family diner by day, by night (2am/3am as was described by other customers) I don't know. However, for a family meal and especially for breakfast, I would definitely recommend this place!

I live in fondy, and it's either packed or dead. But none the less they have GREAT food but it needs an update on both decor and food choice.

2.8795 Faros is a classic American restaurant on scale with Perkins. Outdated carpet and furniture. Overall, very clean though. My companions were happy with the wide selection. Faros is not my kind of place. But it was not as bad as I anticipated. I found the menu posted online via urban spoon. Overall, very few non-meat selections (fruit plate or veg omelet), no vegan choices. All salads had at least two kinds of meat. Most items came with choice of bacon or sausage. We had a group of about 30 people. The service was pretty fast. I ordered an ice tea. Mediocre. Coffee was provided for the whole table. The coffee was bad, commercial blend. But the waitstaff kept the carafes filled. We were also provided with baskets of dinner rolls and butter. I did not care for the rolls. I ordered the fruit plate. This came with 2 slices raisin toast, a scoop of "low fat cottage cheese", 1 cut apple, 2 watermelon slices, 1 cantaloupe slice, 1 honeydew slice, a few thin orange slices. My complaint? False advertising. The cottage cheese was not low fat. It was full fat. I am 100% certain. Other than that, it was okay. The table seemed pretty satisfied. Some people said their food was great. Others didn't comment. Faros serves its purpose as a family friendly American diner at American diner prices.

Dirty... I visited the restroom first and I should have left at that point. The restaurant was not any cleaner, which makes me wonder about the food prep area! The food was below average not to mention we didn't receive all that was ordered. We had to ask for the toast and eggs, the coffee cup and silverware were also dirty. Sorry I gave this place a try and I wish I didn't waste my money here! I would not recommend this place or be returning.

Went there for a late dinner and the place was packed. We were given a table in the back, which was just fine since we were there to visit with a friend that we were in town to see. The menu has just about every type of food type available. Each one of us got something different. Every one of our meals was cooked well and tasty. The service was prompt, but not smothering. The only thing to watch out for is substitutions. My daughter ordered a steak and wanted to have the baked potato "loaded" (w/sour cream, cheese and bacon) rather than just plain with sour cream. This small change increased the cost of her steak by $7.

I am always nervous about family restaurants like this. This is because family restaurants usually don't cook good food. Not so with this place. We all had a terrific meal here. They say they are a Greek Restaurant but carry so many other non-Greek dishes that it made me wonder. I once ordered a gyro at a place like this and it was horrible so I am very careful. I stayed safe and ordered a patty melt. Yep, very safe. Not only did they not mess up the patty melt it was done very well as were the other dishes around the table. Mine came with a very nice size salad. The soup too was delicious. Service was good and timely. Everything was very nice, of ample portions and hot. Fries were still hot past the 5 minute mark. Nicely fried. Two things though could be better. The coffee was terrible. Skip it. The bathroom is nicely done but the floor was not cleaned well. Still the place is tons better than many other restaurants.
